Football Recap: Saint Andrew's Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Saint Andrew can now relate to. They were dealt a 62-28 defeat at the hands of the True North Classical Academy Titans on Thursday. The Scots' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Saint Andrew's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylan Faison, who picked up 143 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Remi DeOrsey handled things on the ground, rushing for 96 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Zachary Katz continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for True North Classical Academy, throwing for 357 yards and five TDs while completing 74.1% of his passes, and also rushing for 33 yards and one score. Those five passing touchdowns gave Katz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cecil Smith, who gained 215 total yards and a touchdown.

Saint Andrew's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for True North Classical Academy, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2.

Saint Andrew's does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for True North Classical Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Chaminade-Madonna at 7:30 p.m. on the 28th. The Lions' defense has only allowed 12 points per game this season, so the Titans' offense will have their work cut out for them.
