Basketball Game Preview: Spring Grove Lions vs. St. Charles Fighting Saints

The Spring Grove Lions will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the St. Charles Fighting Saints at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Spring Grove has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight losses, while St. Charles will come in with nine straight wins.

Last Friday, Spring Grove ended up a good deal behind Houston and lost 56-40.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, St. Charles beat Waterville-Elysian-Morristown 67-63 on Saturday. Given the Fighting Saints' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 209th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Charles' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points per game. As for Spring Grove, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
