Basketball Game Preview: Rainier Columbians vs. Gladstone Gladiators

The Rainier Columbians will venture away from home to square off against the Gladstone Gladiators at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 64-17, which was the final score in Rainier's tilt against Jefferson on Friday. The Columbians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Gladstone can finally bid farewell to their ten-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 44-27 win over Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts. The Gladiators' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Rainier's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Gladstone, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-3.

Rainier was able to grind out a solid win over Gladstone when the teams last played back in December of 2018, winning 47-36. Will Rainier repeat their success, or does Gladstone have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
