Football Game Preview: Princeton Tigers vs. Mercer County Golden Eagles + How To Watch

The Princeton Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Mercer County Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Princeton will be strutting in after a victory while Mercer County will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, everything came up roses for Princeton against Mendota as the squad secured a 48-10 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Tigers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 156th, while the Trojans are ranked 347th).

Meanwhile, Mercer County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were beaten by Rockridge 61-24.

Princeton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.6 points over those games. As for Mercer County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Everything came up roses for Princeton against Mercer County when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 57-20 win. In that game, the Tigers amassed a halftime lead of 57-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
