Baseball Recap: Freedom Patriots vs. Mitchell Mountaineers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Watauga, Freedom was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Mitchell Mountaineers 10-4. Considering the Patriots have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
LUKE MILLER made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He has become a key player for Freedom: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-10 otherwise. MILLER was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on ZACH CARSON, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Freedom's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 2-10 when he doesn't).
