Football Recap: Mount Miguel Takes a Tough Playoff Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mount Miguel can now relate to. They came up short against the Granite Hills Eagles on Friday, falling 52-30. The Matadors haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Despite the loss, Mount Miguel still got an impressive performance from Jeremiah Loper, who threw for 145 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 42 yards.

Granite Hills' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zachary Benitez, who threw for 129 yards and two TDs. What's more, Benitez racked up 27 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in September. Seth Rodriquez helped out on the ground, rushing for 94 yards.

Mount Miguel's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Granite Hills, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Mount Miguel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Granite Hills, they will challenge Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on the 29th. The Eagles' defense better be ready for this one: the Hornets have averaged an impressive 43 points per game this season.
