Basketball Recap: Warren Piles Up the Points Against Western

Warren's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Western Pioneers 69-36. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Bears have posted since December 2nd.

Warren was led to victory by King Johnson and Jay'Mari Redmond. Johnson went 8 for 11 on his way to 19 points, while Redmond went 6 of 13 en route to 14 points and five assists. Johnson's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Steve Munoz, who posted seven points.

The victory got Warren back to even at 7-7. As for Western, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Warren and Sierra Vista will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Warren's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests. As for Western, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Santa Ana Valley at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
