Basketball Game Preview: Providence Hall Patriots vs. Ben Lomond Scots

The Providence Hall Patriots will take on the Ben Lomond Scots at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with nine consecutive losses for Providence Hall and ten for Ben Lomond.

Last Friday, Providence Hall came up short against Summit Academy and fell 71-61.

Meanwhile, Ben Lomond played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 85-49 loss at the hands of Morgan. While losing is never fun, the Scots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Trojans are ranked 16th).

The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Jaerdan Vanbeekum and Bracken Saunders. Saunders had a great game and went 8 of 10 on his way to 21 points and seven steals. Meanwhile, Vanbeekum did his best for the losing side, going 6 for 10 to rack up 15 points.

Providence Hall's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Ben Lomond, their loss dropped their record down to 5-18.

Providence Hall came up short against Ben Lomond in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 79-68. Can Providence Hall avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
