Basketball Recap: Andrew Jackson Comes Up Short

Andrew Jackson extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 2-4. They were beaten by the Colonial Grenadiers 56-24. The matchup marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Tasandra Williams was Andrew Jackson's leading scorer, having posted six points.

As for Colonial, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1. While they didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Colonial got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cherish Risbrook out in front who went 5-for-10 on her way to 13 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Iliana Dorvilus, who shot 71% from the field to rack up 11 points along with six assists and four steals.

Andrew Jackson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-37 loss against DeLand on the 29th. As for Colonial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 46-45 victory against Martin County on the 29th.
