Holdingford had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Albany Huskies. For the Huskers, this counts as revenge for the 8-1 victory the Huskies walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

Masyn Patrick spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits.

At the plate, Luke Bieniek was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and one stolen base. That stolen base was his first of the season. Brodi Huls was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Holdingford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .457. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .455 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Holdingford's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Albany, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Holdingford and Albany should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings. The Huskers (ranked 42nd) will meet Royalton (ranked 141st) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Albany will challenge Sauk Centre at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (79 vs. 205).
