Basketball Recap: Gibbs Skates Past Scott with Ease

There's no place like home for Gibbs, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They claimed a resounding 65-29 win over the Scott Highlanders. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Eagles had established a 25 point advantage.

Zack Turner was his usual excellent self, going 6 of 11 en route to 15 points along with seven boards and six assists. He has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Gage Walker, who posted nine points.

Gibbs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive matches.

Gibbs moved to 9-12 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Scott, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gibbs has already played their next game (against Anderson County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Scott will square off against Clinton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Clinton has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 202 points over their last three contests.
