Baseball Game Preview: Hillsborough Terriers vs. Leto Falcons

Hillsborough is 2-8 against Leto since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Hillsborough Terriers will venture away from home to take on the Leto Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Hillsborough is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Freedom.

Curtis Roberts was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Marquis Thornton, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Leto fell victim to Plant and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 13-0 to the Panthers. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hillsborough's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Leto, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Hillsborough came out on top in a nail-biter against Leto in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will Hillsborough repeat their success, or does Leto have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
