Softball Recap: Osceola Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

Osceola had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Port Charlotte Pirates get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won 16 matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Theresa Diez and Jenna Neupaver did most of the damage at the plate: Diez went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one double, while Neupaver went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Neupaver has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Bri Shephard, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Osceola kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive games.

Osceola is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Port Charlotte, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-16.

Coming up, Osceola will face off against Estero at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. Port Charlotte does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
