Baseball Recap: Shelby County Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Shelby County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the East Limestone Indians 9-8. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Campbell Aderholt was excellent, scoring three runs while going 3-for-5. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Ethan Hall also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Shelby County pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7.8 runs. As for East Limestone, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coincidentally, Shelby County and East Limestone will both be playing Westbrook Christian the next time they take the field. East Limestone will head out to face Westbrook Christian at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Shelby County will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
