Recap: Fulton Hornets vs. Rivers of Life Christian Eagles

The Fulton Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 56-49 to Rivers of Life Christian.

Rivers of Life Christian was led to victory by Preston Sheppard and Jacob Cochran. Sheppard scored 16 points, while Cochran scored 24 points. That's the first time this season that Sheppard scored 15 or more points.

Fulton bumped their record down to 2-9 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Rivers of Life Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fulton will take on South Callaway at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. South Callaway knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Fulton likes a good challenge. Rivers of Life Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Westwood Baptist Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 12th. Westwood Baptist Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.
