Baseball Recap: Walden Grove Comes Up Short

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Walden Grove was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They came up short against the Safford Bulldogs, falling 12-2. The Red Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Walden Grove saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angel Armenta, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Walden Grove's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Safford, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Coming up, Walden Grove will square off against Mica Mountain at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Red Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Thunderbolts have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Safford, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 12-9 defeat against Empire on the 4th.
