Basketball Game Preview: Prentice Buccaneers vs. Auburndale Eagles

The Prentice Buccaneers will head out on the road to face off against the Auburndale Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Prentice turned things around against Chequamegon on Tuesday. They walked away with a 51-41 win over the Screaming Eagles.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Auburndale against Newman Catholic on Tuesday as the team secured a 61-23 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Prentice better keep an eye on Rose Hasenohrl. She was instrumental in Auburndale's win, shooting 80% from the field to rack up 20 points. Those 20 points gave Hasenohrl a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gracie Hasenohrl, who went 5-for-9 en route to 12 points and four steals.

Prentice's record now sits at 6-8. As for Auburndale, their record is now 11-6.

Prentice couldn't quite get it done against Auburndale when the teams last played back in February of 2025 as they fell 39-29. Can the Buccaneers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
