Baseball Game Preview: Fairfield Falcons vs. Davis Sr. Blue Devils

The Fairfield Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Davis Sr. Blue Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Fairfield 2.7, Davis Sr. 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Fairfield gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over Vacaville.

Trustin Mitchell made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Mitchell was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Mitchell wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Zach O'Reilly, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Davis Sr. was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Whitney, falling 6-0.

Fairfield is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Davis Sr., their loss dropped their record down to 17-9-1.
