Softball Game Preview: Bryant Hurricanes vs. Fairhope Pirates

Bryant is 0-6 against Fairhope since March of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bryant Hurricanes will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Fairhope Pirates at 7:00 p.m.

Bryant is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They lost 13-5 to East Central on Saturday.

Bryant saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madelyn Ladnier, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Ida Wright was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Fairhope got themselves on the board against Baldwin County on Monday, but Baldwin County never followed suit. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over the Tigers. The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won seven in a row.

The result came thanks to Addison Russell's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up eight Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Emma Stewart was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. What's more, she also posted two hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mia Gates, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
