Recap: Covenant Academy vs. Westwood Wildcats
Covenant Academy pushed their score all the way to 60 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a serious blow against Westwood, falling 91-60. Even though they lost, Covenant Academy's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.6 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Ryan Stevens and Blake Bartow certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Stevens dropped a double-double on 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Bartow scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds. The contest was Stevens' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Lucas Fisher was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Covenant Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Westwood, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
Covenant Academy will head out on the road to face off against First Presbyterian Day at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Westwood will be home for the holidays to greet Terrell Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Terrell Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Westwood in Georgia (Terrell Academy is ranked 179th, while Westwood is ranked 360th).
