            Baseball Recap: Ash Grove Pirates vs. Early Panthers        
        
		
        
        
            Ash Grove won against Weaubleau  last Monday with seven  runs and they decided to stick to that  run total again  on Thursday. The Pirates narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past the Early Panthers  7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Pirates have posted  since May 3, 2024.

 Kyler Reece was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he  struck out six batters over  five innings while giving up  three earned runs off   nine  hits. Reece was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-5 with three  RBI and one  double. Those  three  RBI gave  him a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Joseph Jollivette was  excellent,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That  run was  his first of the season. Another player making a difference was  Alex Acosta, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances.
Ash Grove is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Early, their loss  ended  a  four-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 5-4.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ash Grove will welcome Sparta  at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Early, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Macks Creek  at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday.
