Baseball Recap: Jackson County Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for Jackson County's offense. They lost 10-0 to the Smith County Owls on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their meetings with the Owls: they've now lost six in a row.

Jackson County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Stafford, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Stafford is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Jackson County's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Smith County, the win keeps they at an undefeated 9-0.

While Jackson County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
