Basketball Recap: Ashville Takes a Loss

Ashville lost against Glencoe back in January of 2016 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Ashville Bulldogs fell 57-48 to the Glencoe Yellowjackets. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 134th).

Glencoe's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chloe Douglas, who went 5 of 12 en route to 15 points. The dominant performance gave Douglas a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Kinlee Montgomery, who posted 14 points and three steals.

Ashville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Glencoe, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-7.

Ashville has already played their next contest (against Cedar Bluff), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Glencoe has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Westbrook Christian.
