Recap: Zion Chapel Rebels vs. Goshen Eagles
The Zion Chapel Rebels waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They secured a 64-58 W over Goshen. Given Zion Chapel's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while Goshen is ranked 396th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Slade Grantham, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last nine games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Legear, who scored 12 points.
Zion Chapel is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for Goshen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-15.
Zion Chapel will be playing in front of their home fans against Highland Home at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Goshen, Goshen and Abbeville will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Abbeville will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
