Basketball Recap: South Stanly Comes Up Short

South Stanly was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 27th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Anson Bearcats, falling 41-21. The Rowdy Rebel Bulls were probably out for revenge after losing 42-29 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Briley Page was South Stanly's leading scorer, having posted four points. Page also led the team in assists with two. Akerria Robinson held things down on the boards with 11 rebounds.

Titiyanna Burns was the offensive standout of the game as she posted nine points along with eight boards and four steals. Alaysia Caraway was another key player, putting up five points and five steals.

South Stanly's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Anson, their record now sits at 3-4.

South Stanly wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-47 defeat against West Stanly on the 13th. As for Anson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 44-39 victory against Chesterfield on the 13th.
