Baseball Recap: Conwell-Egan Catholic's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Two

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Conwell-Egan Catholic walked away with it. They never let the Father Judge Crusaders get on the board and left with a 6-0 win on Wednesday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Brady Guzzie was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.

Guzzie wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tommy Kalita, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Chase Garafolo also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Conwell-Egan Catholic and bumps their season record up to 15-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Father Judge, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.

As of now, neither Conwell-Egan Catholic nor the Crusaders have any future games scheduled.
