Baseball Game Preview: Grace Christian Crusaders vs. Asheville Christian Academy Lions

The Grace Christian Crusaders will face off against the Asheville Christian Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Grace Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.

Grace Christian will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against The Covenant on Saturday. Grace Christian came out on top against The Covenant by a score of 12-9.

The team relied heavily on Jimmy Alfonsin, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Riley Cuddy, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Asheville Christian Academy fell victim to Rabun Gap-Nacoochee and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 10-0 to the Eagles. The Lions have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Asheville Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Grace Christian, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.
