Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Manchester Academy's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Jackson Academy, Manchester Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Greenville Christian Saints 17-2. The Mavericks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by six runs or more this season.

Jack Miller made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February.

In other batting news, Manchester Academy got a massive performance out of Grant Nixon, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Hayden Austin was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Manchester Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.9 runs over those games. Greenville Christian's record is now 1-3.

Manchester Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against Greenville Christian: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
