Basketball Recap: Cromwell Skates Past Nashwauk-Keewatin with Ease

Cromwell won the last time they faced Nashwauk-Keewatin and things went their way on Friday too. The Cromwell Cardinals claimed a resounding 86-33 win over the Nashwauk-Keewatin Spartans. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 20 points or more this season.

Cromwell had a senior duo take command as Dylan Nyberg shot 43% from the field to rack up 21 points and eight rebounds and Brady Dahl shot 4-for-6 from long range and dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 boards. What's more, Dahl also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in January of 2024. Drew Nyberg was another key player, going 6-for-9 on his way to 14 points.

Cromwell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They are 13-1 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Cromwell is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.4 points over those games. Nashwauk-Keewatin has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Cromwell will square off against Cook County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cook County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 matches -- so hopefully Cromwell likes a good challenge. Nashwauk-Keewatin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
