Baseball Recap: Midway Raiders vs. Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers
Midway had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They had just enough and edged the Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers out 3-1. The win was familiar territory for Midway who now have nine in a row.
Midway got a great performance from Dale Martin as he didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit over five innings pitched. Martin has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive pitching appearances.
On the hitting side, Tripp Westbrook was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Tew, who went 1-for-3 with a stolen base and an RBI.
Midway is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. As for Bartlett Yancey, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-8.
