Softball Recap: St. Michael Catholic Comes Up Short

If St. Michael Catholic was riding high fresh off their 16-1 takedown of McGill-Toolen last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cardinals lost 10-3 to the Elberta Warriors on Thursday. The Cardinals haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

St. Michael Catholic saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Pratt, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Aryia Blackmon was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

St. Michael Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Elberta, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-21.

Looking ahead, St. Michael Catholic will challenge Cottage Hill Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Elberta, they will be taking part in a tournament against McGill-Toolen at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.5 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
