Baseball Recap: Maranatha Christian Academy Eagles vs. Kansas City Christian School Panthers
Maranatha Christian Academy lost against Kansas City Christian School back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eagles fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 16-15. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
AJ Reischman was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and 11 unearned) runs off three hits. Reischman was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Lake Padgett and Michael Small did some serious damage despite the final result: Padgett scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Small went 3-for-5 with three RBI and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Auden Smail, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Maranatha Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Kansas City Christian School, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Looking ahead, Maranatha Christian Academy will challenge Heritage Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
