Softball Game Preview: Minneapolis Southwest Lakers vs. Chaska Hawks

The Minneapolis Southwest Lakers will square off against the Chaska Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Minneapolis Southwest has four straight victories, Chaska has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Thursday, Minneapolis Southwest was able to grind out a solid win over Washburn, taking the game 5-2.

Meanwhile, Chaska didn't have quite enough to beat Shakopee on Friday and fell 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Hawks have lost by just one run.

Laney Farm was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Ashlyn Larson also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Chaska's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Minneapolis Southwest, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Minneapolis Southwest might still be hurting after the 15-5 defeat they got from Chaska when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Lakers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
