Basketball Recap: East Laurens Falcons vs. Bleckley County Royals
Even though the East Laurens Falcons have not done well against the Bleckley County Royals recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. East Laurens enjoyed a cozy 58-44 win over the Royals. The victory made it back-to-back wins for East Laurens.
East Laurens' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyan Snead, who scored 20 points along with two steals. Rashund Washington Jr. was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds.
East Laurens has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Bleckley County, their loss dropped their record down to 17-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Laurens won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Wilkinson County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 471st, while the Falcons are ranked 127th). As for Bleckley County, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th.
