Basketball Recap: Southwest's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Southwest easily dispatched Howard on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Patriots fell just short of the Peachtree Ridge Lions by a score of 65-63 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Patriots have suffered since January 17th.

Despite the loss, Southwest still got an impressive performance from Chase Dupree, who shot 71% from the field en route to 32 points and three steals. The contest was Dupree's third in a row with at least 23 points. Another player making a difference was Alex Butts, who posted 13 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Southwest fell to 2-1. As for Peachtree Ridge, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Southwest has already played their next game, a 64-56 defeat against Harlem on the 28th. As for Peachtree Ridge, they will be playing at home against Norcross at 7:00 p.m. on December 5. The matchup will give the Lions their first taste of in-conference action this season.
