Basketball Recap: Cardale Manuel's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Memphis Central over Whitehaven

Memphis Central has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took an 87-80 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Whitehaven Tigers on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (75), the Warriors still had to take the loss.

Memphis Central lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Cardale Manuel, who posted 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylon Evans, who had 23 points.

Memphis Central's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Whitehaven, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 18-3.

Memphis Central will head out on the road to take on White Station at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Whitehaven, they will be playing at home against Memphis East at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Whitehaven is on a four-game streak of home wins, Memphis East a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
