Baseball Recap: Franklin County Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Franklin County and Port St. Joe squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Franklin County had to settle for second. They took a 13-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tiger Sharks. The defeat continues a trend for the Seahawks in their meetings with the Tiger Sharks: they've now lost five in a row.

Karcen Poloronis was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kayden Drake, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Franklin County's loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Port St. Joe, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-10.

While Franklin County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
