Baseball Game Preview: Saint Mary's Panthers vs. Marin Catholic Wildcats

The Saint Mary's Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Marin Catholic Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

On Thursday, Saint Mary's needed a bit of extra time to put away De Anza. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Dons, sneaking past 8-7. The victory was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Lucas Nitsan was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Damien Nolan, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Meanwhile, Marin Catholic posted their closest win since March 4th on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past San Rafael 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Marin Catholic's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Luke Martin, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Saint Mary's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-13. As for Marin Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.
