Basketball Game Preview: Chillicothe Hornets vs. Maryville Spoofhounds

The Chillicothe Hornets will head out on the road to challenge the Maryville Spoofhounds at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chillicothe is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.3 points per game this season.

Chillicothe is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Cameron: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Chillicothe blew Cameron out of the water with a 59-24 final score. With the Hornets ahead 33-13 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Chillicothe got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaishon White out in front who went 5-for-8 on his way to 13 points and eight boards. White is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Sol'Jier Allen, who posted 11 points.

Chillicothe was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Maryville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 59-51 win over Savannah on Friday.

Chillicothe has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. Maryville's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-15.

Chillicothe suffered a grim 56-32 defeat to Maryville when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Chillicothe avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
