Baseball Recap: Kingsburg Snags Fifth Win in Last Six Games

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Kingsburg and Sierra Pacific, and Kingsburg kept the tradition alive. The Vikings came out on top against the Golden Bears by a score of 6-1 on Wednesday. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 16-2 victory the Golden Bears walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Jensen Hirschkorn was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as he's now launched at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Hirschkorn wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Ekizian, who went 3-for-4 with one double.

Kingsburg is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Sierra Pacific, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7.

Kingsburg will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Golden Bears: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
