Baseball Recap: Haynesville Comes Up Short

Haynesville lost against North Caddo back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Golden Tornado fell just short of the Titans by a score of 5-4. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Miller Toney was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Toney was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Toney wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hunter LeBlanc, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

Haynesville dropped their record down to 11-8-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for North Caddo, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-14 record this season.

Haynesville will welcome Castor at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for North Caddo, they are taking a road trip to take on Parkway at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
