The Jesuit Tigers will face off against the Countryside Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Jesuit 2.5, Countryside 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Jesuit is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Brandon an 18-0 shutout. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Brady Hoar looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Jesuit got a massive performance out of Robby Santana, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Santana is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as he's now launched at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Vincent DeCarlo was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Jesuit kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Countryside won against Northeast on Thursday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over Clearwater. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Tornadoes recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Chase Hilldreth was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brody Sadlowski, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
The victory was the third in a row for Jesuit, bringing their record up to 18-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Countryside, their victory bumped their record up to 18-7.
Jesuit came up short against Countryside in their previous matchup back in April of 2018, falling 4-1. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
