Football Recap: Jet Henderson Key Part of Team Effort in Bobcats Win

The Presbyterian Christian Bobcats didn't have too much trouble with the Tylertown Chiefs on Friday as they won 33-14. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bobcats.

Presbyterian Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jet Henderson led the charge by picking up 157 receiving yards and one touchdown. Henderson's longest reception was for an incredible 76 yards. Another passer making a difference was Smith Stringer, who threw for 232 yards and one TD while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Presbyterian Christian, adding 15 points to the final score. All came from Ben Goodwin: he went 4-for-4 kicking field goals for 12 points, and 3-for-3 kicking extra points for an additional three.

Despite the loss, Tylertown still got an impressive performance from Keonnis Davis, who threw for 267 yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 55 yards and one score. A healthy portion of Davis' aerial production (112 yards to be exact) went to Landon Thompson, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Presbyterian Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Tylertown, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Presbyterian Christian will welcome Jefferson County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tylertown, they will venture away from home to face off against Hazlehurst at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
