Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is Arlington's Ninth in Last 12 Outings

Arlington won the last time they faced Kamiak and things went their way on Friday too. The Arlington Eagles enjoyed a cozy 77-58 victory over the Kamiak Knights. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Knights are ranked 158th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Arlington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Leyton Martin led the charge by dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Martin's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kaid Hunter, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards.

Arlington was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Arlington is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.4 points per game. As for Kamiak, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.

Arlington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 51-45 win against Jackson on the 28th. As for Kamiak, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-51 loss against Glacier Peak on the 28th.
