Basketball Recap: Star Valley Comes Up Short

Star Valley extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 2-4. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-51 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mountain Crest Mustangs. The contest marked the Braves' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

As for Mountain Crest, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points over those games.

Easton Pugmire continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 5-for-9 en route to 17 points and seven boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jackson Branz, who posted 17 points.

Coincidentally, Star Valley and Mountain Crest will both be playing Sky View the next time they take the court. The Braves will head out to face the Bobcats at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Mustangs will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
