Volleyball Recap: Nash Central Starts Season with Win on the Road

Nash Central had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Rocky Mount Gryphons with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Gryphons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

While Nash Central won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-13, 25-18.

Their offense was headlined by Jayci Seward and Savannah Phillips, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from Jayden Baggett and her 23 assists. Gracyn King controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Nash Central will take on Southern Nash at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rocky Mount, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge J.F. Webb at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
