Soccer Recap: South Side Comes Up Short

South Side was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Neshannock Lancers, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, South Side can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 397th, while Neshannock are ranked 133rd).

South Side's loss dropped their record down to 2-4-1. As for Neshannock, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2-1 and their overall record up to 8-3-2.

Looking ahead, South Side will square off against Beaver County Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Side's defense better be ready for this one: Beaver County Christian has averaged an impressive 3.5 goals per game this season. As for Neshannock, they are taking a road trip to face off against Hickory at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hickory will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Neshannock surely won't give up without a fight.
