Independence won the last time they faced Beachwood and things went their way on Friday too. The Independence Blue Devils snuck past the Beachwood Bison with a 42-36 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

Beachwood's loss came despite strong showings from Zo? Walters and Lexi Jaffe. Walters went 5 of 12 on her way to 13 points and six steals, while Jaffe posted 12 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. Walters is becoming a predictor of Beachwood's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Goldi Aschkenasy, who had five points and nine rebounds.

Independence now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Beachwood, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.

Independence wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 59-36 defeat against Rootstown on the 14th. As for Beachwood, they will head out to face off against Trinity at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
