George Stevens Academy faced Jonesport-Beals in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Royals with a sharp 3-0 win. The Eagles were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Royals, so the Eagles were just returning the favor.

While George Stevens Academy won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-10, 25-12.

Their offense was headlined by Taylor Grego and Aurora Simmons, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Acadia Simmons and her 19 assists. Grego was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

The victory made it two in a row for George Stevens Academy and bumps their season record up to 8-3. As for Jonesport-Beals, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.
