Baseball Recap: Walker Takes a Loss

If Walker was riding high fresh off their 15-5 takedown of Mount Vernon on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Walker fell just short of the Wesleyan Wolves by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. The Wolverines haven't had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Jackson Ramon was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits.

At the plate, Walker saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brendan Finger, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Walker now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Wesleyan, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Walker will look to defend their home field on Monday against Fellowship Christian at 5:55 p.m. Fellowship Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Walker's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Wesleyan, they will head out on the road to take on Landmark Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Wesleyan's pitchers better be ready for this one: Landmark Christian has averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
